Please read the following guidelines and questions before contacting me.
Video Submission Process
- Make a copy of the DVD, if desired.
- Send me the DVD, by regular mail or electronically.
- E-mail me the length of the DVD, and the portion you would like translated (if not all).
- Send me a 50% deposit via Paypal once I have replied with a quote.
* (The other 50% is due upon receipt of the finished product)

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you actually translate/subtitle the conversation word for word?
Yes, I do. And yes, all of it, unless requested otherwise.
2. Do you provide a written transcript of the video?
I will be more than happy to provide a written transcript, if requested. However, I will not provide only a written transcript, since I have to include the time at which the dialogue occurred anyway, at which point the video might as well be subtitled.
3. Do you already have access to the DVD or do you need me to make a copy for you?
Generally, no. The videos are mailed directly to you from our searchers in Russia, usually via Mary.
4. Is your rate fixed?
By no means - feel free to provide an offer. The worst that will happen is that I will contact you to further negotiate a rate.
5. What is your turnaround time?
It depends on how busy I am. I work freelance, primarily doing web design, so there is a tremendous amount of ebb and flow. Generally, around 1-2 weeks from the time I receive the video, though.
6. How do I make copies of my video?
See question #8 - you will have to contact me.
7. Are you Russian? Where are you?
(This gets asked a lot, for some reason). No, I am an American who: happens to be a Russophile; lived in Moscow for two years; and has a Master's in Russian. I am in Pittsburgh, PA, USA.
